We are living in troubled times. Our federal government has become brazen and unapologetic in abusing its citizens and their Constitutional Rights. Vaunted and previously trusted agencies are using their powers to target citizens based on political affiliation. Think about their labeling of school-aged parents as Domestic Terrorists as just one example. Examples of abuse are actually exhaustive. If this were not scary enough, our freedoms and rights have been eroded locally by the very people we entrust to protect them. At every level, it seems, the collective has supplanted the individual.

Whether you realize it or not, the County Sheriff is our best hope to preserve our liberties, protect against an overbearing government, and maintain public safety. But it requires a Sheriff with the fortitude to champion the individual's rights, regardless of their social standing or political affiliation. I feel compelled to run for Sheriff of Camden County for many reasons, but I can think of none greater than defending your rights and maintaining law and order.

Our Sheriff’s Department has been in decline for a long time. Corruption, Cronyism, and Favoritism is rampant. Deputy retention is at its lowest level in recent memory despite a substantial pay increase. There is an old saying - "Employees leave managers, not companies." It is also a Sheriff's Department that only takes necessary action after social media publicity. Perhaps most importantly, the Sheriff’s Department has lost public trust. Together, we can fix it. I am tired of watching these abuses and problems from the sidelines.

I was once told, "If you are passionate about a problem, you can complain about it, or you can do something about it. One will be more effective than the other." So, I am officially announcing my candidacy for Sheriff. I love this community and the people who choose to live here. We deserve better, and we can do better.

Finally, there is an alternative to the "different but the same" candidates. Someone who has worked at the Sheriff's Office and knows what's wrong with it, but has not been a part of it their entire career. Someone who has fought against the abuses of the Sheriff's Office and has a proven history of routing out Corruption, Chronyism and Favoratism; and who has proven he is willing to stand up to unconstitutional government edicts. An outsider with inside knowledge who is only running because he has witnessed appalling abuses, is willing to stand up to stop it, and knows we can't continue on the current path. Someone who will do everything in his power to make sure it doesn't continue and that the Rights of EVERY citizen are protected... because this community deserves better. It's time to take a stand and vote for change. My wife and I are raising fifth generation Camden County residents on both my Mother's and Father's side. Every member of my family has been actively involved in this community, from a Great-Great Grandfather who was a Preacher, to starting multiple businesses which are still active, to a Grandfather who was a State Representative, my father who served on the School Board, all the way to myself who serves on the School Board. I have served our Country in the Army and our community as a Deputy Sheriff. I am invested in this community and feel the pull to give back a small amount of what living here has given me. I felt compelled to run for a seat on the school board because it was over-run with corruption, poor employee culture, poor fiscal responsibility, and poor performance. These same problems plague the Sheriff's Office. This is why I now feel compelled to run for Camden County Sheriff. We fixed the school and I want to do the same for the Sheriff's Office. The Deputies deserve better, the citizens of Camden County deserve better, together, we can make better a reality.
